I took a trip on one of my off days from work two weeks ago. My goal was to get some shots of the Glade Creek Grist Mill. Unfortunately my time management was off as I got to the mill right at 1:00 in the afternoon. The sky was clear as a bell and the sun was blazing which meant the conditions could not have been worse. I walked around for a while and scouted out which locations would give me the views I wanted and decided to run over to the New River Gorge Bridge and then come back later when the light was better.
Good idea, as I was able to get a decent shot of the bridge from the overlook below the park visitor center, and then when I got back to the mill, the light was much better.
My next West Virginia adventure will be to Blackwater Falls State park.
As always, the downloads are best.

I always like to take a "scouting shot" with my phone in case I return and want to shoot from the same spot.

You have no idea how amazing this bridge is if you just drive over it. Well worth the stop at the visitor center.

Saw this reflection along Rt. 60 in Glen Ferris on my way home and stopped for a couple of shots.

Excellent work capturing the picturesque mill, PJ.
Beautiful set, PJ. You and tradio both featured the Grist Mill in your posts.
Very nice. I would have erased the tower in the last image. But that's just me.

Beautifully serene shots โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ
Thanks all for the nice comments. The bridge shot is a two shot HDR (because of how bright it was out). The mill shots have been processed in Lightroom Classic. I agree that the tower is distracting, but I only edit in Lightroom (Photoshop and I donโt click) and I donโt like the results I get when I try to remove something.
