The Z9 is coming. If I had any justification at all, and I could justify the cost, I'd buy one. Unfortunately, I have no need for the world's greatest camera.

Okay, you can start arguing now.

From preliminary reviews, it does look like a great camera.

Already saving my nickels and dimes. If it is as good or better than my D850 I will take the plunge. Looking to jump to mirrorless.

I think it's as good as the D6 and D850 combined but mirrorless.

The paperwork is always good but sometimes the product doesn't meet expectations. Nikon makes good products don't get me wrong, but it might be good to wait for a real product test before shooting your wad (of $).

A new flagship mirrorless camera which cost likely to be higher than the current flagship isn't as good as the D850? So I said at least as good as the D850. As for as good as the D6? Well if the image quality isn't as good as the D6 then it's really not a good camera. We don't know yet but rumors that it's faster than the D6 so if it's not true I think it's as least as fast as the D6 in term of frame rate and AF.
Of course we don't know until we have the camera but if the Z9 isn't better than the D6 and the D850 then Nikon blew it.

My car is the mid level version of the three levels offered. The top level was $3k extra. So, I figger that I have an extra $3k in the GAS fund.

You’ll probably need to double that for a Z9.

Finally, a REAL photographer. Not joking. So many bozos with flimsy excuses. Go for it, head first. Usually a good idea to avoid the first batch, but I’d imagine the nickels and dimes approach will assure thaz the case anywho !

You will discover that a Z9 in nickels and dimes is thousands of pounds, so start your workout regime right away ;-)

I don't know about a Z9. I do know a Z4 has only 2 buckets. And on a nice day will blow your toupee off.

Most likely not. I would think very few people would buy the Z9 with cash for the reason that first it's a lot of cash to carry around and for most people there is no store to do a cash purchase. So the wallet doesn't get any lighter.

"Lighten your wallet" is a figure of speech.

Years ago when there were camera stores nearby I would deal in cash and usually get a discount. Today, with no real camera stores nearby, I'm happy to buy online and get 5% back.

By law it's hard to refuse cash but people just don't buy a Z9 with cash. Besides if you don't have a stores near you that carry the Z9 you can't buy it with cash. B&H don't want you to send an envelop with $7500 in it.

Do you have the same cash price if you pay with a check? There is an auto shop I know and he would give me a discount if I pay in cash and in real cash not a check.
