"Streets of Fire" - Thanks!

Thanks to all of you who recommended "Streets of Fire." I watched it last night. Quite a movie! I've never seen sets that were so dark, dingy, and dirty. There wasn't a bright, clean scene in the entire movie. Except for the red hot rod, everything in the film was filthy. I couldn't help laughing throughout it. I'm sure it was made with tongue in cheek. It was made in 1984 with a decent cast - Michael Pare, Willem Dafoe, and Diane Lane. Several very minor parts were played by actors who went on to have successful careers. Did you notice the woman train driver at the end and one of the singers in The Attackers?

I really liked that movie.
I also thought Michael Pare would be going places.
Wow was I wrong.

Yeah, for some reason, his career stalled. He was in a movie I watched a while ago, and I had to Google him to see who he was.

Online: He didn't make the right movie choices early on. Tom Cruise made Risky Business and that gave him a big head start.

And - Every couple of years we have a new actor who is supposed to be the new this person or that person. Most of them never live up to the hype put upon them and it’s not their fault but the fault of those who put them on this pedestal. He was not a bad actor just did not have a lot of depth and seriously always seemed to play the same type of guy. Brad Pitt lived up to his hype because he could do a movie like a River runs through it but also a movie like Burn After Reading where he played a complete doofus and was very believable in it. Can you imagine Michael Pare doing that?

Yes, he has been busy, but I bet he'd like to be busy and getting $1 million paychecks.

Leo Decaprio(SP) is filming a movie in Fairfax OK and surrounding areas and most of the filming is done at night. Some of the buildings are still there from the twenties and thirties, but the two interesting things is that the paved streets are covered with dirt in the area they are going to film and to get a daylight shot they use a boom lift (JLG) with a large chandelier attached to the boom with clear bulbs. It is so bright that it will light up a block and a half. All the dirt is removed from the street at the end of the night.

The movie is based on a book and true incident in the history of Oklahoma Oil fields and the formation of the FBI. I think the name of the Book is Killer of the May Flower Moon, it is an interesting read if you are interested in history.

I think the movie will be releases next year, since they started filming it in I Believe 2019. I do have some photos that I took after they quite filming for the night and they had cleaned up. I will try and locate them and post.

Killer of the Flower Moon. I read the book, and it was excellent. The movie also stars Robert DiNiro.
