B&H has added the Z9 to their product lineup.
I got a similar tease from Nikon today... Trying to build hype and interest in advance of releasing the product, it seems. Probably out of my league anyway...
They call it Marketing! I won't be buying one either.

Yeah, I’m no waiting to see it and I’ll be tempted but I’ll probably end up with a Z7II
Funny you say that. To me the front view doesn’t look all that different than a D3 or any of Nikon’s other professional models. I guess there’s a reason you go by Curmudgeon, (although I think Quixdraw could give you a run for it).
Treasure your images, not your mirrors.

Yep there sure is. I also sometimes go by my nickname "Iconoclast"

NikonRumors thought the camera would be released yesterday so he said he stayed up all night waiting for the announcement only to find out it was just a tease video from Nikon:
https://nikonrumors.com/2021/10/05/nikon-officially-announced-a-z9-mirrorless-camera-teaser.aspx/He expects the camera will be announced in late October or early November per the original rumor.
I will personally not be buying one as I don't have the expected $6-7k that will be required for the purchase.

Acoarst. It’s over the top for many users.
But my first grade math lessons tell me that “5, 6, 7, 9” leaves a gap to be filled. And my fourth grade UHH edumacation nearly *promises* that the “8” will be the anxiously awaited “D850 of the Z-series”.
Hierarchically, it seems like the Z6 is the D610, Z7 is the 780, and the Z8 ought to be the 850. Time will tell.
When the Z8 debuts there will be two polarized “reception committees”. One to welcome it as the superior upgrade that it will be, and the other to bitch unceasingly that it’s clearly NOT the D880 that heaven had promised them.
Henny Penny (Chicken Little) recycled.
