In regard to your interest of old courthouses, have you seen the one in Prescott, Arizona? It is a beautiful white structure surrounded by park-like greenery on all four sides. You might be able to find it on 'Google'.

Thanks Arca, checked it out, Yavapai county courthouse, so classic and beautiful and landscaped wonderfully and of course, next time I'm in AZ.....?

Two of my favorites are in TX, Caldwell and Presidio county court houses, another reason I like them soo much... Cheers

Re the county courthouse: There is no Columbia County in Wash., but there is one in Oregon, with its county seat in St. Helens, OR. I can't imagine how you found the tiny village of Dayton WA; I had to look it up as I'd never heard of it.

BTW, the courthouse is tilting to the right, but Oregon carpenters are obviously of questionable skill.

Found this Rich, http://www.columbiaco.com/ seems like there is a Columbia or maybe I have it wrong. Anyway, you're right, it is tilted slightly, probably when I was cropping.... Cheers

Not bad! We spent 8 hours there one day and never saw the mountain, much less anything more than 800 feet ahead of us!

Nice pix! One of my early photo lessons, back in film days was having the roll come back underexposed since I did not increase exposure for the snow. Hard earned knowledge often sticks the best!

Thanks, Blaster, learned something new. A little bitty county in eastern WA I've never heard of. (WA has 39 counties.) Anyway, nice capture of the courthouse.

Mt Rainier was on our bucket list and as many times we've traveled to Seattle and Whidbey Island, never made it, now we 'Got It.' filling up that National Parks Passport. However we were worried about fire & smoke on our trip to Mt Rainier a few weeks ago however most of the fires were east of the park and our issue looked like it was going to be weather.

Spent an entire day in the park hoping for a better day than the previous day where the top of the mountain was barely visible. Morning fog & rain and cool. We drove around and visited many of the sites including Paradise, walked a few trails and after about 8 hours, it was looking like we would never see the mountain. Although clear and sunny in many directions, the mountain was always bathed in clouds and fog. As we were leaving in the afternoon, the mountain appeared and what a beautiful sight it was. Here are just a few, best in download....Cheers

PS, and if I happen to see an interesting courthouse, I always stop and take a photo, just love the old architecture of these buildings throughout America.
Mt Rainier was on our bucket list and as many time... (show quote)

Fantastic set, Blaster! I love the one of the marmot and her pup.
