When a forum topic is placed permanently on a forum, it is called a "sticky." We have a local forum called Nextdoor.com. Google it, and you'll probably find one in your area. We have a new roundabout in town that many people dislike. I posted the picture below. This has gotten so many replies that the administrators asked if I want to make this into a Group - like a sticky. I figured, sure, why not?
What is the cost, who programs it, are all the times for each direction equal, does it really minimize confusion and accidents, do all the lights blink in creative sequences at Christmas??

I wonder, but it's hard to believe that bunch of lights is real. I think someone spent some time photo editing.
Oh yeah that will really help. Nicely done.
I hate them! When I went to Australia a few years ago there were roundabout after roundabout every couple miles. That with being no longer used to right hand driving was an accident waiting to happen. And it didn't help that there was a field full of Kangaroos right alongside the road next to one of the roundabouts. No photos of that as much as I wanted one.
Ha! Pick the color you want - R/Y/G. 'Course, from the look of it, there's probably a red light for every green!
BTW, aren't "roundabouts" also called "traffic circles" - which were supposed to _eliminate_ traffic lights (at the expense of real estate)?
Anyway, a fun picture! 😆

It's a Street Art Installation outside Billingsgate Market, London.
Jerry, I had never encountered a roundabout until I was living in Rhode Island in the 1980’s while working in Eastern Connecticut on the Millstone III nuclear plant. I was fortunate enough to be in a carpool with three local residents who taught me how to properly maneuver what they referred to as ‘rotaries’. When they started appearing in the Midwest, I think I was the only person who understood how they worked and tried my best to ‘teach’ my friend how to properly navigate them.
We have one near us in NJ that has the highway (Rt1&9) going straight through, crossing (Hwy Rt 439) does the circle as do any individuals wanting to turn, at least 4 traffic lights on the circle. There's been a circle there since I was a kid.

We have a few of those too. Some call them Hamburger roundabouts and they have traffic light controlled entry. It lets the traffic on the main throughfare pass straight. When the lights change the minor roads get a chance to feed into the regular part of the roundabout. They generally work quite well once you are used to them (and we are because they've been around since 1909).

In cities, electricians program traffic lights. They are issued cards to identify this task. Apparently it requires so pretty necessary understanding of electrical systems to set a traffic light. Them are the guys with keys to the boxes!
