Like yourself I too collect old cameras. Currently I have about 200 in my collection, the Bolsey B2 is in there. I would like to collect more but $$$$$ restricts what I am able to buy. If anyone reading this has suggestions on old and unusual cameras to hunt down and purchase please share your thoughts @ dll5791@gmail.com. Thank you.

I collect "old" film cameras. I had both Bolsey B2 and the Military Bolsey camera, both work. Sold both. What are you looking for? I may be able to help you. Yes, "I would like collect more but $$$$$ restricts what I am able to buy."

Keep posting the photos of the old cameras and sharing your enjoyment of them. As you can see, there are those here who do not appreciate the old cameras just as there are those of us who don't appreciate BIF or flower photos. Keep posting them as you do have an audience here, UHH is a big room.

Still wish I had my Olympus film camera. Bought it for $80 in 1970, sold it for $110 45 years later.

I don't know why your cameras annoy anyone. When there is a post that annoys me, I just don't read any more and move on. Anyway, I wanted to add to the lore about your Bolsey. One of my best friends in high school had a camera that looked just like yours, but had in addition to the usual range finder, Mike's camera had a twin lens reflex viewer incorporated in the top of the camera.

Here's a link to a pic. The feature seems of dubious value to me, but he was ok with it. https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m55846640507/?gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12877497079&utm_content=t0&adgroup=120335190446&network=g&device=c&merchant_id=130633468&product_id=m55846640507&product_id=530638316398&gclid=CjwKCAjw49qKBhAoEiwAHQVTo2fXVNO5Z5FG6BMjYzaVsohNulX0oKMujUHTdfDHHGlz8PDThJiILxoCiREQAvD_BwE

I enjoy your old cameras too! I gave all of mine to a local camera club when I downsized. I still see them in my memory....wish I had taken pictures of them.

BOLSEY B2 Vintage 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera

The Bolsey B is a 35mm rangefinder camera with a cast aluminium body, introduced by Bolsey in 1947. The lens is a fixed Wollensak Anastigmat 44/3.2 with helical focusing, and the Wollensak leaf shutter gives T, B, 10–200 speeds. The rangefinder is of the split-image type, coupled to the lens but separate from the viewfinder.

The Bolsey B2 is the successor of the model B, made from 1949 to 1956 with double exposure prevention. It is engraved MODEL B2 on the front. The shutter is synchronized and marked Synchro Matic with a red lightning painted on each side. Minimal aperture is 22 instead of 16.

I'm sorry that my camera collection seems to upset many of you: however, if they weren't with me , many would be in a landfill.

I too enjoyed seeing all the old cameras you have in your collection. The latest star, the Bolsey B2, brings back a bunch of memories. My dad and I both had one back in the 50s and I now have both. I don't think either are in working condition having spent many years in boxes. Great little camera in its day.

Thanks for the spotlight.

My father bought me a twin lens Bolsey when I was in high school and to this day I have no idea why he did that - but it got me started in photography

No idea, he bought it used from an ad in the newspaper. We weren't particularly wealthy so when the photo bug bit us, we scrounged what we could. I bought a Kalimar from a pawn shop. As you can tell from the photo in the link, his camera looks just like yours except for the viewing lens and the pop up viewfinder.

Love your old cameras! My grandpa had a couple of them.
Wonder if anyone will collect Sony A7s 60 etc. years from now, or they will work at all.

Good question, The way technical is going in today world I would said that Sony A7s and other cameras like the Sony A7 will end up in land fills and have no value.

Perhaps you're thinking of Bolex for movie cameras. I think Bolsey was strictly still photography.
