It looked to me as if most of the parts, if not all of them, were new. There was so much dirt on that camera with some oxidized parts that it is hard to believe the camera could be restored.
The lens to me was a total loss.

That was my original intent, but the admin moved me from the main discussion group to this one. I sent him an email asking why, and got no answer. Oh well!

I was surprised it was in the Main section at all. Putting a link in Main always gets the post sent to Links.
All other comments aside; How do you spell rugged--N I K O N. The film was fun to watch, but realistically, it would never be worth the expense to salvage that camera, if you could even find someone who would do it.
Sorry Jerry I still don't understand what happened or why. I posted it in the main section. Admin moved me top Links. I did not want links, just main. Please explain. Thanks Bob

Admin does not allow links in the Main section. If you put it Chit-Chat, links are okay.

Check out this You Tube for the answer. It's a long video of 30 minutes but just look at the beginning, the middle and the end of the video. You will not believe your eyes! Almost unbelievable!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfByZJ5RTh4Just to set the record straight, during the Iraqi war a photo journalist friend of mine told me that all the Nikon gear failed and that that gear was replaced with digital Canon for the photo journalists. Funny thing, she was shoot Leicas and sent her Nikons back to Turkey for safe keeping. The journalist was Mary Ann Smothers Bruni.
