Stopped at the Mount Goliath Natural Area, part of the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forest. A bit late in the season, and dry, but still interesting. A good community of Bristlecone Pines, purportedly among the oldest living things on Earth. Oldest known 5,000 years of age. DF AF S 24-120 1:4 G ED

superb photos.
I thought that the Bristlecone pines in CA were the oldest but you did say "among".

Thanks very much! The oldest so far identified is in California.

Fantastic work. If I had scenes like this near me, no one could ever find me at home.

Beautiful photos of a beautiful area. Your photos of the deadwood are great. Don't know how many of the live ones are Bristlecones, but would bet on #5 being a pair of them..

Many thanks! Not near us, but close to where my Son lives. Beautiful country, but I am fortunate to have some of a different kind.

Thank you very much! Five for sure, four possibly. Don't know how many they have, and I didn't walk a great distance. The main path is not a loop, but straight out and back which wasn't tempting.
