I am using an iMac with Big Sur and Canon has no driver to sync these two machines. No matter. what size setting I input, the it will only print a 2 x 3 image. Anyone with this set of tools experience the same? Is there any suggestion for a workaround (other than a new printer or older computer/OS)?

I have a Pro 9000, running a PC with Win 10. Works perfectly//

Can you set up your iMac as a dual-boot machine, and run Win 10 as the second OS? I know that's possible on some Macs, I don't know which. I believe there's also a capability to run a virtual Windows machine from within the Mac OS, again I don't know which Macs can do this. Anyway, Windows would work with the Canon drivers.

I just moved moved to an iMac M1 machine running Big Sur and printed fine from LR to my Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II. Just printed a 7x7 image.

Well, that's interesting. I thought the 9000 was dead - with modern drivers no longer available.

I transitioned from a MacBook pro (not Big Sur) to the iMac M1 (Big Sur). Just backed everything from my laptop to Time Machine and then restored to the iMac. Other than some other apps not working on Big Sur, all else seems OK.

Like Valenta said, my Canon Pro9000 Mk II also still works great on Win 10 on the old drivers which are apparently modern enough.

I had a Pro 9000 running with Win 10. It used Win 7 drivers as Canon never issues newer drivers for that older model printer. Seemed to work fine but did not fully communicate custom paper profiles or the like. No problem with paper and image sizes.

Seems Macs are rather different or the OP does not know how to change or set paper print sizes. It can be tricky even in Windows.

True. But for a PC Win 7 drivers still work. No new Win 10 drivers.

I’m running a MacBook Pro 2017 on Big Sur version 11.5.2 and print photos to a Canon i9900 printer. I built in drivers work fine, but I did have to find and move the older paper profiles to the correct folder. You have a different printer but mine is pretty old and still works with Mac.

lautenk2, Appreciate your suggestion. That may be a last resort approach, but I'm holding out for a direct Mac resolution.

David A, Thank you for your response. I have a MacBook Pro and my iMac is less than a year old. Another new computer is not the answer I was looking for at this time.

lamiaceae, thanks for commenting. Glad your past printing did not give you issues. My Pro9000 MkII has been used for years without a hitch (with every print size available), til now.
