They may sound dumb.
how due you down load photos to your Computer and not upload the photo to the I cloud?
when you are use Adobe Elements.
I ignore iCloud. It seems that files get put there, and then it fills up. That results in me getting messages to buy more space - no interest in that. I don't like too much automatic moving of my files.

Put them in a folder that doesn’t sync with iCloud. It’s just that easy.

Go to
https://www.icloud.com/Then Click on photos. Then click on download. They will download to the folder download unless you have changed it.

Real easy.
Drag photo to a folder on your computer and it goes nowhere else.

I’m downloading from my camera to the computer and everything seems to go to the cloud. Especially when I’m using elements for the download.

Do not use any program.
Just make a folder on your computer.
Then hookup your card from the camera to a reader, plug it into the computer.
Open the reader on your computer, open the folder you made in another window.
Select ALL your photos on the card and drag and drop them into the folder you made on your computer.
No cloud unless you have given some outside person permission to take everything you put on the computer and put it into the "Cloud" or in other words they get ALL your personal data.
Do it this way and it will not go anywhere but to the folder you made.
Extremely easy.
I've been importing directly from camera to my PSElements Organizer for a couple years now, and I'm not aware if they are going to the cloud, also. I have Windows 10.. Asus PC. It must be somewhere in your settings ...I'd like to know the answer, too!
