I have never seen this type of flower before. In the night and morning, it is closed. As the day progresses, it opens in a very gorgeous and elaborate way. Can anyone identify the flower?

Here in GA, we call this a passion flower. Bees and butterflies really enjoy it. And the flower, with or without insects, is very photogenic. Blossoms in August-September.

As do residents on Dominica.

Passion flower, but apparently doesn't produce passion fruit.

Nice capture! Great color. My wife has had them here, too, but she didn't know the name in English. Now she does! 😁

Passion flower. Here in Central Texas, I have them blooming all summer. Butterflies love them. They have the most intoxicating smell of any flower I know. Hence, its name. :>)
They ARE very invasive however.

Thanks for your comments. I have never seen such a flower in all my years. It did attract lots of bees and butterflies.
