my 1st thought was parasitic eggs(not when i downloaded) then fungus,i have no idea.i have seen a lot of velvet ants ,this is the first that had this white stuff

Agree its sand. But the other end shows that its not a good idea to go around barefoot when they are around. And the sting is described as being incredibly painful.
