She had to die happy, she died doing what she wanted. Can't get any better than that.

That cop is certainly no hero, possibly a coward but certainly no hero as he has been portrayed and he himself claims to be.

I worry for his safety. After seeing the videos multiple times, I am just surprised that there was not more shooting from the police. I think that it was just so beyond their wildest dreams that they would be physically attacked by rioters trying to injure and kill the VP and members of congress, that they generally didn't shoot anyone. I mean - when the one officer was grabbed off the steps and dragged into the crowd of people beating him - there should have been bullets flying. And I'm a pacifist!

How many other cops over the last few years have you worried about their safety? You folks on the left certainly are selective in the application of your principles.

There are those who would have wanted him to have emptied his magazine into someone they would characterize as a crazy conspiracist bitch. Such people would be opposed by those characterizing the event as a "normal tourist visit". (Rep. Andrew Clyde (Ga.) defended his description of rioters walking through the Capitol on Jan. 6 appearing to look like a “normal tourist visit” during a committee meeting on Tuesday.)

A description of the normal tourist visit follows:

Sgt. Aquilino Gonell on Tuesday shared an emotional testimony for the first of the Jan. 6 committee hearings, detailing the events of the Capitol insurrection.

Why it matters: Gonell, an Army veteran who served in Iraq, said he was "more afraid to work at the Capitol" on Jan. 6 "than in my entire deployment."

What he's saying: "[N]othing in my experience in the Army or as a law enforcement officer prepared me for what we confronted on Jan. 6," Gonell said.

"The verbal assaults and disrespect we endure from the rioters were bad enough. I was falsely accused of betraying my oath, of choosing my paycheck over my loyalty to the U.S. Constitution. Even as I defended the very democratic process that protected everyone in the hostile crowd," he added.
"The rioters called me traitor, a disgrace, and shouted that I, an Army veteran and a police officer, should be executed."
"[T]he physical violence we experienced was horrific and devastating. My fellow officers and I were punched, kicked, shoved, sprayed with chemical irritants and even blinded with eye-damaging lasers by a violent mob apparently who saw us, law enforcement, officers dedicated to ironically protecting them as U.S. Citizens, as an impediment to their attempt of insurrection."

Look at the libs on this forum calling for the death sentence of those who trespassed on the capital, when that event occurred they wrongly thought that there was wide spread voter fraud and they actually thought that their protest was in defense of our constitution.... They may have been wrong, their actions were criminal, but they certainly did not deserve to die.... Especially a young veteran who defended this country, more than I could say for those here celebrating her death.

Let me see. A black lieutenant fires a single shot and kills a white female who is not carrying a weapon. I don't know what training he receives at the firing range but most police officers are taught to fire multiple rounds quickly at the individual who is threatening either another individual or himself. This officer fired only one single round and then holstered his weapon. He knew that he fired his weapon and should not have otherwise he would have kept firing. Shortly after firing his weapon he stated that he was not in trouble and that he was a hero. This cop is a coward and should be brought up on charges.

Rodney King's offense which led to his beating was driving under the influence, not resisting arrest. The riots occurred after the cops who beat him mercilessly were acquitted. The background was that the LA police department had a bad record of prejudice against blacks.

A year earlier, in March 1991, King — who was on parole for robbery — had led police on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles; later, he was charged with driving under the influence.

When police finally stopped him, King was ordered out of the car. Los Angeles Police Department officers then kicked him repeatedly and beat him with batons for a reported 15 minutes. The video showed that more than a dozen cops stood by, watching and commenting on the beating.

King's injuries resulted in skull fractures, broken bones and teeth, and permanent brain damage.

What was martyr Babbett's offense?

The group Babbitt was with was battering the doors to the Speaker’s Lobby, the hallway outside the House chamber where some lawmakers and House staff members were sheltering, when Babbitt attempted to crawl through a shattered window pane in the doors.

Byrd, who was standing on the far side of the doors, fired a single shot at Babbitt, sending her tumbling backward onto the floor. Babbitt was hit in the shoulder and later died.

“I tried to wait as long as I could,” Byrd told Holt. “I hoped and prayed no one tried to enter through those doors. But their failure to comply required me to take the appropriate action to save the lives of members of Congress and myself and my fellow officers.”

Byrd said he was “very afraid” the day the pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol and continues to be fearful. “I am afraid because I know there’s people that disagree with my actions on January the 6th. But I hope they understand I did my job. And there was imminent threats and danger to the members of Congress,” he said in the interview, a remainder of which was aired on NBC’s “Today” show Friday.

I am not saying that King's murder was the right thing. But he did resist arrest and he had a long criminal record. THose things are undeniable. And the riots, looting. and deaths were a direct result of his death.

He wasn't murdered, just badly beaten but not nearly as badly as the white Truck driver who got caught on the wrong street during the following riots, he should have just kept driving instead of stoping for the people in the street.

Here are two comments I copied from reactions to the article in the Washington Post:

"‘I saved countless lives’ on Jan. 6" - Jan. 6, 2021 failed race war, riot & insurrection at the U.S. Capitol Building changed everything in America. America's homegrown terrorists acted just like the Taliban driving pick-up trucks. No tanks, planes or battleships. The media (WaPo, tv, social, etc.) should be very careful to report the "truth" before they publish content about Jan. 6 attack. 21st century reality in the USA - Democracy vs autocracy.

The Good News - Democracy defeated autocracy at the ballot box in 2018 & 2020 and on the battlefield on Jan. 6, 2021.

"Capitol Police officer" - In the 21st century 2021 who would have thought a few hundred angry white racist & bigots armed with guns, knifes, bats, hangman rope and bear spray proudly waving confederate, nazi and traitor-trump flags would march down Penn. Ave. NW and try to start a "race war" and overthrow our "Democracy" at the U.S. Capitol Building? Who would have thought traitor-trump would try to declare Martial Law and become the 1st american racist/dictator/mob boss/thug - autocracy? The Truth...

In the 21st century 2020 - Who would have thought over 73 million white americans would vote for evil - hatred, fear and bigotry - autocracy/dictatorship and try to destroy our "Democracy"? Delta is ready when they are and has daily flights to the USSR.
How pathetic and deplorable....

****************************
"‘I saved countless lives’ on Jan. 6" - The #1 Question is - Did traitor-trump want a repeat of the 2017 Charlottesville, VA "race riot" so he could declare Martial Law and become the 1st American racist/dictator/mob boss/thug? Thank God he failed.

Today the FBI has served over 1,000 arrest warrants and arrested over 550+ America's homegrown terrorist (kkk, neo-nazi, white nationalist, militias, etc.) who should be going to jail (10+) years. Many are taking "plea deals" and becoming FBI - "informants/snitches". Sadly 2 Capitol Hill Police Officers committed suicide. At least 6 people died including Ashli Babbitt.

Over 150+ D.C. & Capitol Hill Police Officers were injured physically and emotionally defending our "Democracy" against autocracy giving the American People the "Victory" on the battlefield against autocracy evil (hatred, fear and bigotry) - dictatorship.
God Bless the USA. How pathetic and deplorable...https://www.mediaite.com/online/twitter-mocks-tiki

They didn't "trespass." They violently invaded with the intention of murdering Pence and Pelosi. They had the weapons described above and they injured Capitol police with their weapons. The "young veteran" was a fanatical nutcase spewing Qanon conspiracies. And she was 36, "young" only in comparison to the old codgers in The Attic.

You obviously did not watch all the videos. Mere seconds before Babbit is killed a Congressman is seen sashaying through the hallway into an open office. That isn't the definition of "sheltering". Spare us the media slant. Go back and watch to see how scared the Congressman wasn't.
