There are very good repair shops that will work on it - but Cannon is doing all it can to make it impossible for them to get parts

That is a Nikon problem, NOT Canon.
Canon WILL repair.

But they WILL charge.

SO?
They (Canon) will still do the repairs.
Nikon will do nothing for any price, you are stuck with a brick under their policy.
They will not even sell parts either to anyone who wants to do it independently.

Canon USA has an internet post about this. These are products imported from outside the Canon USA distribution chain. Personally, I would not buy anything that is gray market.

As I said the difference is only in the first year. After that no difference. Most cameras don't need repair within the first year so if the saving is large enough it's certainly worth it.

If the International model has an International warranty, which gray market cameras typically do not, then Canon USA will honor the warranty. After the warranty expires repairs are the same for all Canons: you pay Canon, or whoever else is doing the repair, the going rate. If the warranty concerns you then find out from the vendor exactly what warranty is included. If it doesn't have a USA or International warranty it may have a seller's warranty. The value of that depends on the integrity of the seller.
BTW, who is the vendor? Chances are someone here on the Hog is familiar with them. Some less reputable ones will offer lower prices by not including and then charging extra for such things as the battery, battery charger, neck strap, etc.

International model means the same thing as gray market. The camera has been brought in though unofficial importation and/or the seller is not an authorized Canon dealer.

It means there's essentially no warranty. If needed Canon will gladly service it for you, but it won't be free.

Other terms often seen are "international warranty" or "store warranty".

EDIT: I looked this "deal" up on Amazon...

https://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-18-55mm-Complete-Accessory/dp/B08VCLBJM9/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Canon+EOS+90D+Digital+SLR+Camera+Body+with+Canon+EF-S+18-55mm+f%2F3.5-5.6+is+STM+Lens+3+Lens+DSLR+Kit+Bundled+with+Complete+Accessory+Bundle+%2B+128GB+%2B+Flash+%2B+Case%2FBag+%26+More&qid=1630176847&sr=8-1

My advice it to run away as fast as you can!

That kit is full of worthless junk. The "3 lenses" are the Canon kit lens (which is okay) and two cheap accessory lenses that screw into it to make it wider or more telephoto. With those accessory lenses, I'd wager the image quality will be utter crap. There are also cheap "close up filters" and a supposedly multi-coated UV filter (which is unnecessary). There's no brand name or add'l info about those filters, so I bet they don't do image quality any favor, either.

There are two cheap, no name tripods that will probably break within the first half dozen times you use them. And there are an unknown brand memory card and mystery card reader. It's a128GB card too... I'd recommend getting two to four smaller cards instead and personally I only trust my images to known brands such as Sandisk and Lexar.

Digital slave flash? That would usually be a flash that only fires when the camera's built in flash fires. Another cheap, no-name piece of junk.

$1329?

I looked at B&H Photo...

For an additional $20 you can buy a USA warranty 90D with the EF-S 18-55mm STM lens from an authorized dealer like B&H, Adorama, etc. The strap, battery and charger, lens caps and body cap are included with the camera.

Sandisk Pro 32GB SD cards are on sale for $12.50 ea. Their slightly lower grade (slower read/write) 32GB cards are under $10 ea.
Or a 2-pack of 64GB Lexar Pro is on sale for $50.

A real telephoto zoom, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS STM sells for $300 (there is a cheaper version without STM, but it's slower focusing and noisier).

A real wide angle zoom, the Canon EF-S 10-18mm IS STM sells for $300 and is a bargain among ultrawides, as well as one of the few to have stabilization.

Highly recommended (better than any UV filter):

Canon EW-63C Lens Hood for EF-S 18-55mm IS STM lens.... $23 (Vello "clone" $10).
Canon ET-63 Lens Hood for EF-S 55-250mm IS STM lens... $25 (Vello "clone" $12.00).
Canon EW-73C Lens Hood for EF-S 10=18mm IS STM lens... $25 (Vello "clone" $12.50).

This would be a much more capable setup... But, of course, it costs more. However, you also won't be without a warranty and won't be wasting your money on worthless junk.

While I got the prices I quoted from B&H Photo, you will no doubt find similar from other retailers like Adorama, if you prefer.

I'm not sure if that is still the case, but I know it used to be. How to know this you ask? Easy, contact Nikon/Canon and ask, or go to their website and look it up. That's what I did back when I was tempted, and I passed on it and bought the USA version. Back then Canon would not honor the warranty but would repair for the normal price during and after the warranty period. Nikon would reject and not touch it, be it in or out of warranty (as in never, ever), though your local authorized Nikon repair shop might offer to repair it for normal cost; even though they were not supposed to.

International model means the same thing as gray m... (show quote)

In looking at the link you posted there is one line the OP apparently missed: "No Manufacturer's Warranty".
According to a statement from MTShooter some time back, Canon does offer an International warranty on some cameras. Not this one obviously. As you stated, the OP should run, not walk, to a reputable dealer. Anyone offering that much junk to make a sale is not reputable, IMO.
