In London in 1958 my brother and his wife took me to the London Palladium to see Buddy Holly. Years later saw Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers at the Granada in Walthamstow London

That's a shame. They made great music. He lived ten years longer than Phil.

Indeed so many of the great singers and musicians have passed away. Itβs a characteristic of us all growing older and reminiscing of the days when we in our 20s and the world of rock and roll.

Loved the Everly Bros. Still have some of their 45s from the 1950s.

I have a Sony 300 CD player full of oldies from 60s thru 80s, some 50s. Nothing newer.
I might have missed it but I saw nothing on tv about his death. But I do remember seeing 14 days of a basketball player's misdemeanors shown on every channel. Damn..

jerry in the late 50's and into the 60's my Dad had a television and record shop, and before the British rock bands came along, the walls in the shop were covered by Lp's and Ep's of the likes of Buddy Holly/Elvis/ Frank Sinatra/Big Boppa and may more. That music stuck with me, and the big 'O', Elvis, and Buddy Holly are still my favourites! Just the other day our local Supermarket was belting out Buddy's hits...I didn't mind shopping that morning.

What ones in particular?
On SiriusXM it's "50s on Five." On Pandora (on computer), I'll select a singer from the 1950s, and they throw in others, as well. Regular radio reception here isn't great, so I rely on a sometimes-working XM radio in my car. I also have several thousand songs on two flash drives in my car for when the XM cuts out.

"Back" was good in some ways, not so good in others. Imagine life without computers and the Internet.
