Has anyone received a Canon RF 100mm F2.8 Macro IS yet. If so did you receive it from Canon direct or a vendor? I ordered mine when Canon.com announced pre sale, received an email about a month ago stating it would ship within 72 hours and have yet to receive it or hear from them. Thanks

Have you contacted Canon to follow-up? What did they say?

In case Canon can't fill your order:
I read on DPReview that several folks had been able to purchase their RF 100-500mm by placing themselves on waiting lists at several mid-size camera stores, since the largest outlets (B&H, Adorama, etc.) would have huge waiting lists. I used the Canon USA website to make a list of authorized dealers in major cities, and put myself on the waiting lists. In just a few weeks I was able to purchase my 100-500mm. Three days ago I was called by another store who had them in stock. I advised them that I'd found one already, but asked about the 100mm F2.8 macro. They had them in stock, I ordered one and it should arrive today.

If it truly was a month ago when you got notified the lens would "ship within 72 hours", unless you live in Antarctica you should be contacting Canon urgently and doing some shipment tracking!

I ordered a refurbished lens from "shop.usa.canon.com" and it took a long time to ship (about a week), but then only took 3 or 4 days days to go from the east coast warehouse to my doorstep on the west coast. And that was economy (as in "free") ground shipping.

Are you sure you ordered from "canon.com"? That takes you to their corporate website where they don't sell anything. I believe purchases are made through their regional websites... such as Canon USA, Canon Europe, Canon Japan, etc., etc.

I guess I was lucky. I ordered direct from Canon U.S.A on July 4th, it shipped four days later.
Great lens, it's made me get out and shoot bugs.

Thank you. I called and was told by a manager that my bank declined the payment so they go to the next in line. I asked what reason was given as I new the card could have charged that lens 25 times. He said I would have to call my bank (Wells Fargo) for the reason. There was no declination from the bank. I gave them the card on 4-15 when I ordered the lens, received an email on 7-5 stating it would ship 48-72 hours. I waited patiently for a month thinking the demand was high, supply chain, etc. I ask if someone tenders a card and waits 3 1/2 months couldn’t they have a form email stating there was an issue and you have 24 hours to resolve or your order will be canceled? I was told they have no provision for such notification. I stated since they couldn’t explain exactly what happened could I tender payment and go to the front of the cue since I have been waiting 4 mos. now. I was told I would have to reorder and go to the back of the line again.
