The vettes are beautiful, but, I, too am a MoPar guy. I wish I still had my 66 FuryIII 383/ 4 sp. Bright red! I hated parting with it!

Great looking cars but only a Corvette guy could think that a 427 is a β€œsmall” block.

Even these guys build bigger small blocks.

Agreed! "small block" and a 427 do not go together in my mind, either!

Beautiful.

I believe more displacement sizes were built on the Small Block than any other engine. 265, 283, 301, 305, 350, 400, 427, 454 are some of the combos making it one of the most desirable engines of all time. I for one stick to my Mopars and the many combos you can build with them. Even Fords have many stroker combos available.
Three other big difference between big block and small block are heat, weight and RPM.

I believe in the small blocks....Smokey Yunick told me they were the best!! I have a 400 Siamese bore in my Jeep, a Crane all-the-way cam, heads byPaul out of LA, 4 barrel, #15 chip and a turbo 300 with all the little valves tricked, Detroit lockers front & rear! Just a touch on the throttle raises the front end up a foot or more; it'll do a 100 or more real quick but jeeps are not aerodynamically designed to go much more! LOL Sure like the stuff your doing, keep it up! I'm 82 and still doing it!!

Thanks for the comment. This one had the 383 and 727 auto, but I convinced the owner he would like the 440 much better. He also had me change the trans to a 4 spd which he never could shift it faster than the 727. 4 spds are more fun to drive though.
I agree they drove very well and handled the extra power nicely. We built more Corvettes because I think the owners didn't mind spending lots of money. I've always been a Mopar fan and my best one I owned was a 68 Hemi Roadrunner.

Cool on the Hemi
My Sport Fury was a four speed
I was rebuilding 727 T/Fs for the county police dept. at the time And I built them to the earlier model specs. to eliminate the "softer" shift that the 1970s had that was the only way the P.D. could get over 14 miles out of the 727.

Thank You,
We always did body off every nut and bolt, or rotisserie restorations. The 57 Corvette body was a replacement body as the original body had been in a wreck and the front half replaced years ago, not to mention the fiberglass was going away. We also replaced the entire chassis with C5 front suspension and Tremec 5spd and Ford 9" rear-end and 4 link bars and coilovers all around. The injector stacks were cool, but not practical for the street, so we used the double row air cleaners. They still didn't clear the hood so we had to put a scoop on the hood which was my least favorite part of the car.
Thank You, br We always did body off every nut an... (show quote)
