Sessions with a cooperative dragonfly.
Over three days, I photographed this little fellow in about the same spot. He grew used to me, I posed no threat.

Very, very, nice! I love these! Hey, if you can gets a closeup of the wings, the design is outstanding, like a mosaic or the design of a stain glass. Someone sent me a closeup of one—if I can find it, I’ll post it for you. Cheers!
I've come to think they get interested in us too. Great work!

The first four was shot with a Sony a850 with a Minolta 100mm f/2.8 macro, manual focus at f/5.6.
The last one, I used the same lens set-up on auto focus on a Sony a99ii. All shot taken approximately a foot and a half away hand held. All images processed through Topaz Sharpen AI and Photoshop.

Great captures! I think your manual focused a850 images are more focused and detailed than the AF a99ii image.

Wow, a foot and half distance - quite closely unusual for Dragonflies ! ( at least for me) !
