St. Joseph Church near Kaupo, Maui

Built in 1862 and now all but abandoned, this old church sits on the northeast coast of Maui on the backside of the island. There are only a few houses and ranches in the area, and tourists rarely get there because the road is perilous and rough.
This is shot with a Sigma 8-16mm lens @8mm in DX mode on a Sony A7R4. I'm pushing the envelope for HDR, with 9 exposures 1 EV apart each. Then tonemapped in Photomatix Pro. I needed to mask several different versions together because it was very windy, and so deghosting was a bitch, pardon my French, requiring selective deghosting in several areas, with automatic deghosting in the main image. However I am pretty happy with the result, all told.
Iād be happy with the result too if it were mine. Nice work.

That is a fabulous composition. I don't think I would have conceived of it.
I know the area and the road isn't always open.

I am a big fan of ultrawides, especially for HDR, but you really do need to search for a foreground.
Beautiful image - great composition!
