I was shopping for a D850 a year and a half ago because we were going to Africa and we couldn't share just one. I bought one at the time that was not a US model. Have had no issues. Anyway, at the time I was trying to find one and B&H had a sale going on but they were out of stock so I asked to be notified when they were available. Yesterday I got an email from B&H that said;
"Nikon D850 DSLR Camera (Body Only)
(B&H # NID850)

Has Nikon discontinued the camera?
It's still on their website.
If not discontinued, it's certainly about to be.
EastWest, yours is the 4th topic this morning on this subject. About half an hour before you posted, this comment in another thread indicated the B&H announcement had been withdrawn from their website. Don't know what they'll do about all those emails

Could be that the body alone is discontinued, at least for now and it is only available in a kit with a lens.
Maybe they have certain lenses stacking up and not moving so they put them in a kit to sell them?
But most likely it is just glitches in the supply chain due our good buddy Covid. Maybe in cooperation with Murphy.

I think it is discontinued as price went up. Why so? It makes people think why don't I get the Z7 II that is not more expensive?

Straight from Band H.
UPDATE: I can now confirm that the Nikon D850 is not discontinued. As I already mentioned, B&H automatically marks products as discontinued if they are out of stock for a long time.
My take: I don’t think the D850 is discontinued, the B&H system is setup to automatically “discontinue” products when they are out of stock for long periods of time (which has been the case with the D850 pretty much since last year). If the D850 is really discontinued, we can expect a new replacement to be announced very soon, but I dont think this will be the case.
This from the Onion:
B&H Photo sued for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Reports have surfaced that numerous Nikon DSLR aficionados have flocked to join a class action lawsuit filed today in California, alleging that B&H's report that the Nikon D850 was discontinued by the manufacturer was intentionally or recklessly false, was extreme and outrageous conduct and caused sever emotional distress to members of the class. The lawsuit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, but a lawyer representing the class said damages total in the hundreds of millions of dollars. When asked for comment, a B&H spokesperson said that the company had not yet seen or been served with the suit papers, and thus could not comment, but volunteered that anyone who follows or has even a passing interest in photography has known or should have known for several years now that all DSLR camera bodies are on the verge of becoming extinct.

The Nikon D850 has not been discontinued. This was our error, one we regret and for which we apologize.
The statement, "B&H automatically marks products as discontinued if they are out of stock for a long time." is inaccurate. We do not have an automated process that would mark any item as "Discontinued," regardless of how long it's out of stock.
