We can call them weeds all we want to but I think they are definitely one of God's beautiful gifts. I love them. You got a fantastic shot of this one.

Thistles are beautiful flowers. The technical definition of a weed is "a plant out of place." Pretty simple definition.

This is a beautiful image. One thistle is pretty, but Tommy when you are in the cattle business and have your pastures full of them, not so much.

I now cut the flower off or mow them (I only need one for photographs) before they can go to seed(growing on my property)maybe one day I will have them down to one or two per year blooming. Yeah right !!!!

I agree. I grew up on an Iowa farm and have seen enough, thistles, cockleburs, Yellow burs, etc to last me for a lifetime.
