Went to my favorite local park pond here in KY on Saturday to try and get some photos of Green Herons before they are gone for this year.
Instead, found this willow tree full of fledglings, barely out of the nest!

Very cool! I found some in Florida last winter, also in some willow tangles.
Nice! Can’t say these little critters are “cute,” but you captured them at a time that few ofus get to see. Thanks for posting.

Nice capture. I've seen some young green herons this year but not that young.

Glad you liked them and found it interesting. Looks like I will have the opportunity to go back and check their progress in the next few days.
I'll try to hang around long enough for an adult to come in for a feeding. It is total chaos and actually looks dangerous for the parent, with all those beaks flashing around!
