I made a DNG version for you to work on if you choose, or the SOOC jpeg. Another from the Joshua Tree files.

I decided to go the B&W route with this image. Here is my view of it in B&W.
Very interesting image to work with. Thanks.
Nice shot Mark - here's my view:
Many possibilities..... so I went for a straight edit

Looks like you had a beautiful day for photography,
Here is my edit using Photolemur 3, SmartPhotoEditor, then adding the crow with Photoshop.
I honestly couldn't find much to do to make this image BETTER - just different. So I didn't do much!!!!
My image of Mushroom Rock.
interesting photo - thought it looked best in black and white
When I opened this image the first thing that struck me was the rock looked like the head of a Great White shark. So of course I ran with that.

Thats pretty cool Frank, I like that. I did not notice that looking at the photo at all... good eye. After reading what you wrote, I went back and looked at the original photo and could see it too.

Thanks, Vince once I noticed it I couldn’t get it out of my head. So I simply ran with that idea.

Many of the rock formations in Joshua Tree are suggestive of shapes that we recognize, and then identify with, so I totally get it. A place where your imagination can really take off. My naming this image Mushroom Rock came from needing to title prints, and I went with mushroom on this one. Others include rocks that look like a lamb and a Trojan horse, an orange submarine, a raptor, and on and on. I guess thats in large part what makes this place so magical.

I got tickled when I saw you had added the bird. I was trying to choose between the mushroom image and this one.

A straight edit with a twist? I mean a squeeze.
