Moo.com is what I use and have never been surprised. Great cards. I use my photos on one side and info on the other.

Yes I've heard good things about www.vistaprint.com/ also... Will check them out also...

Staples? I need outset press since my clients like black with white text...
I'm totally good with my cards it's client work that needs to be run frequently...
Blacks are typically very good with offset press...

That said I will look into Staples to see what they offer...
Thanks all, really appreciate the excellent feedback and suggestions :)
UHH remains a great resource for those working on the commercial side of photography...

Vistaprint has done a good job for me in the past: I've always gotten my cards there, as well as a few other things.

Hi folks, recently got back a print job from Overnightprints who has been my preferred provider since 2010. The results were more than disappointing. Especially in light of their outstanding previous work. Thus I initially marked this up as maybe a "bad hair day" for them and submitted another job days later... Same very poor results... The press had not been cleaned prior to either run (which was in all B&W both image and text. The job can back with a strong color tint... And the card edges were frayed and unevenly cut...

And yes I used their CMYK temple file... The exact same as for previous jobs which had been printed with excellent results.
Now the kicker in the mix... The "Customer Support" email can back from a Russian time zone (checked the SMTP header). Customer Support wanted me to send images of 50 cards along with closeups... What? Time is money, I'm suppose to do the Quality Assurance? Nope, writing them off... They have likely changed ownership... If you've dealt with them in the past, you might rethink using the now, enough said.

Ok enough of the rant (and heads up)
Can anyone please recommend a reliable quality offset press company for sizable runs for Business Cards and Comp Cards (Zed Cards).

I have used WHCC - White House Custom Colour for large In-Store display pieces. Guess I'll go there next if no one else has any suggestions...

Thank you for your time/consideration here...
I trust others will benefit from this also... :)

Staples if you have one close to you. Once you design and get your cards printed it is easy to re-order. Vista Print does great work and if you look you can find a coupon or use the coupon code VP Deal. Vista Print provides so many options you should able to find some designs that will make you cards present an image and makes you cards stand out from the pack

I just had a customer ask for cards printed on plastic, similar to credit card. Anyone know of a wholesale printer for these?

This post is almost three years old. Ask your question again, in a new post of your own. You might check with Vista print on this.

Vistaprint is my go-to sour for business cards.

This particular card had a difficult colour balance- I had been working at shooting construction projects all summer and was kinda sunburned- not my usual pallor. We were messing around in the studio with coloured gels, I did not want the use my picture on my business cards but I was overruled by my wife, my assistant and the agency that bring in much of my commercial work in the corporate portrait department. They argued, "practice what you preach and use your image to promote your business..."! I argued, "My face can stop an 8-day clock and make it run backward"! And... as Murphy's Law would have it, the only decent expression, where I did not look like an axe murderer (I was unhappy that day) was on the shot with mixed light from all those gels so I had a red face and green beard. I did a few P-P corrections and sent it off to Vistaprint and they did a great job with the logo and copy as well!

Prior to that, I was using a local high-end lithographic printing company and a much higher price and Vista did a superior job.

I recommend them to many of my foodservice clients and thus far, everyone is pleased.

My next business card is now in production- this time it's gonna be a picture of a pizza, or some heavy machinery- or someTHING- not my face!

Attached: A quick scan of the card.

Epic business card Edward!

And I concur with your wife, your assistant and the agency that brings in much of your commercial work in the corporate portrait department. "practice what you preach and use your image to promote your business..."

It also works well as your avatar here on UHH...
Again it's all about an identifiable "Brand" mark.

Thank you for bringing your experience and wisdom to the fore here...
I will be getting quotes from Vistaprint moving forward

If you need thousands, buy a dye-transfer printer (Fargo, Pebble, Eltron, etc.) We had 24 of them in the school portrait lab I worked at. Output was expensive, about a buck per card, but we were making four color cards with protective overlays, bar codes, student photos, logos, mascots, etc.
