I can't speak for that model, but I've used Epson printers for 10 years now and love the finished products. Have tried Canon but there is no comparison to Epson.

I have a 1400 the printer was upgraded to the 1430, great printer for the money and now it is wireless. I have 3 Epson printers and they are all really good printers. Will be buying a fourth soon.

I got one recently and LOVE it! Epson often has good sale prices on paper and the inks are cheap on eBay ($15 vs $80 retail). Go for it. Epson did have a $50 rebate off a $299 price on their website, which is a great deal if it's still on.

I don't want to get too far off-topic, but since INK is really the bigger expense than the hardware- where have you fellow Epson-lovers gotten the best pricing on Epson inks? I tried off-brand replacements once, and my Epson's ink heads immediately jammed, so I am wary of off-branded inks, needless to say!

Atlex.com for Epson, I also sined up for new products and specials on Epsons web page and they have specials every once in awhile on paper and ink.
I have and use efillink.com, great products and Ron will answer any questions or resolve any printing problems you may have.

I got a good deal at OfficeMax a couple times by purchasing the whole 6-pack bundle and they had a sale thing going on too. About 20% off. I've also bought Epson ink and paper from Epson by being on their mailing list which announces special clearance sales occasionally. It's typically paper OR ink in the sale not both at the same time. Typically 35 to 40% off.

There's not much variance in prices for genuine Epson ink whether from the Internet or retail stores. I think Epson has their finger on the trigger to eliminate dealers if they try to undercut each other to keep the selling price up. That's good for stores to compete with the Internet but the consumer ends up paying more for the genuine item. I don't mind because the Epson product is what my Epson printer enjoys most.
