So share with us the camera and lens you used to take these pictures. Not sure I would be so brave without water protection.
My kayak is very stable or I would not even consider going out in it with my expensive camera gear. I do have some waterproof bags just in case but never really use them. I put a towel down between my legs, then the camera goes on the towel, then I have another towel over the top of the camera to stop water drips on it and also so the sun is not pounding on it all day.
My camera is the Canon 6D and the lens is the Canon 100-400L series IS II. It's an amazing lens and makes me a much better photographer because it's so good!
Just to be fair, I have lots of Nikon friends that take equally good photos with their gear!

One of the best things I have ever bought was a couple of used kayaks. They get me into wonderful places that I could not normally get to for unique photographs as well as good physical workouts.
On November 8th I launched my kayak at the Back Bay in Newport Beach, California and said a little prayer that I could photograph something special. I believe in prayer and mine was answered more than I had ever expected. While paddling around I heard a big spash behind me. It was a group of 5 dolphins exploring the Back Bay.
All these photos look best in download mode.

I appreciate the kind words briace, especially coming from you, a seasoned pro!
Nothing better than getting a big answer from a little prayer! Love the blessings!!!
Nice collection. You also had a great deal of fun producing these shots. I would say "your prayer was answered"
A lot of great shots from that adventure, that is the 2nd time I have seen pics from the back bay at Newport. That may have to go to my bucket list of places to go. Again nice shooting.
