hi team -I traded up and purchased from MBP a Z6 and its grading was excellent category - unfortunately it has a small scratch from obviously being knocked just under monitor-it is probably cosmetic but it does bother me - waiting for XQD card to be delivered before testing -should I reject the camera body and ask for replacement - MPB have been advised and they have offered to make an allowance - not sure if I am being to fussy

any thoughts or advice

Return it. If you don't, you'll regret it as long as you own the camera.

Wow, I'd be happy if that's all my camera had. A 2mm scuff.
Sharpie to the rescue.
BTW - How often do you look at the bottom of the camera?

My experience with MPB has been nothing but excellent. Their ratings would account for this. They have a return policy, as well as having offered you an allowance. They want you to be a happy customer. For more money, they have several “like new” Z6’s in stock you could purchase if that small nick bothers. Or, as someone else suggested, maybe a black Sharpie would do the trick, assuming everything else checks out OK.

I have bought and sold with mob with no problem. If it's cosmetic, I'd take the allowance and use the camera IF there's a problem you can still reject the body.

100% on the money!
Thanks to Peterfiore for attaching Grading Chart. Technically, the issue is an 'external scuff' versus 'very slight signs of wear'. Therefore, does not meet standard.
But does not matter anyway now.

It's hard to tell from this out of focus photograph (ahem), but if it's that little blown out white mark I suppose it would matter most how DEEP the mark is. Considerable depth would speak to a drop of some force, subjecting the camera to a good jolt. If the mark/dent is shallow, then less concern.

To me, the mark itself is nothing. Had I done this to my own camera, I'd not be much bothered by it, but if you think it's evidence of having suffered a good whack, you might as well return it. It's all about the impact the camera took, not the mark itself.

The bottom of bodies (and undersides of larger lenses) often have marks/scratches/scuffs if they have been used, you can mar one just banging it on a tripod screw when mounting. If the allowance seems reasonable and the camera operates as intended - then you should decide "stay or go". If it is a lot cheaper than a new one.....the used car analogy fits. I would ask for an extension on the "return window" until you can do your testing - then decide.

MPB has a very shrot return window (7 days), so make sure you have an agreement with them on testing and returning.

It’s on the bottom? I’d take the money and keep it. I have an L bracket on my Z7 so I wouldn’t even see it.

I just received an Olympus lens 75-300mm from MPB. I only want it to take portraits of animals in zoos. MPB said "Excellent " with also listng of specific factors...like minimal dust that doesn't affect the image quality. I seem to remember, but have to check, that their return policy is 60 days.

I am like you however. If there is a ding or dent, it will be the first thing I see and it will bother me....especially if I think I was mislead. I know,,,I know, 1st world problem, but I like to have things right or I just won't have them.

Just my 2 cents worth. HTH.
