Island Beach State Park is one of the nicest beaches in NJ, and it's one of the few remaining without commercial development. Attached is a SOOC shot where I didn't exactly nail the exposure. Fortunately, Nikon D800E files are very forgiving, and I think you can rescue this sad image from the sorry state it's in.
Feel free to download this image to your computer. Then you can edit it any way that you think is an improvement. Composites, black and white conversions, textures, sky swaps, inverted images, solarization, or whatever else you think will improve the photo are acceptable techniques for your edit. When you are finished, post your edit in this thread. Edits will be accepted until 9pm Eastern time on Thursday. No edits will be accepted after that time because we will begin voting then. Thank you for your efforts and your participation.

Since you didn't mention whether I was limited to one, here's 3 versions of your photo.
Its been a while. I hope I can visit this area some day. Is this where the Judges Shack is?

Hi Mark - yes, the Judges Shack is in Island Beach State Park between parking lots 12 and 13 (on the ocean side). It's worth the trip if you're ever down this way.
My view making an isolated beach theme

Fun shot to edit. I must renew my beach pass so that I can drive down on the beach again.
I choose not to put a golf ball in the picture.
Thanks for the chance to work a sharp image
Nice image to work with. Thanks.
Thanks for a nice day at the beach.

Looking at your edit, I kinda wish I'd gone for black and white. I think it works.
