Squoosh!

Google is rich enough to hire some very clever people, some of whom are working on the problem of providing the most image for the least bandwidth.

There's also Google Drive or Google links, and, I think, One drive.

JPEG files are already pretty compressed. When you ZIP them, they don't get much smaller.

If you just need to send just the image, then export you image as a jpg.

If you need to send as a PS file (.psd) without the editing info, then flatten the PS image and save.

If you need to send a PS file with all the layers and editing info, then here's a youtube video that might help.

Hogs,
I am tying to reduce a file's size for email that has to be under 25MB. I work in PS 2021. Is there a major difference in file sizes among the options of hiding a layer, masking out a layer and deleting a layer? I have a requirement of 2000 px on the widest side and 72 ppi. The size looks good at about 1800 px but I want to do it at the 2000 px size. There are 5 images in layers that are not crucial to the photo which I can delete but if that doesn't do it then where do I go?
Thanks,

Hogs, br I am tying to reduce a file's size for em... (show quote)

There’s a VERY SIMPLE way to do this in Windows. Just “right click” on the image file in your Pictures Folder, and select “Send as an email attachment.” Then once you go to send the email, Windows will ask you to select file size, which they present to you as small, medium, large, and actual. You can see the amount of KB/MB with each selection. You can also attach multiple images this way. I’ve done this for years with Windows 7 and Windows 10 PC’s.
If you’re using a Mac, sorry, hopefully someone else can help you here.

Frederick,
Thank you so much for the suggestion. However, when I tried it either in my Elements picture folder, in Windows downloads or in recent files there was no option to send to email. Considering that I use Windows 10 and Elements 13 I think the problem is on my end. Any ideas or any screenshot that might help me further?
Thanks,

I’m on my walk today, but will send you a screenshot when I get home.

OK, I'm having problems attaching a screen shot, so let me explain. First of all, what I stated above was slightly incorrect. Do the following:

Right click on image, and then select "Send to." You'll get another window, where you select "Mail Recipient." Once you do that, you should receive a box that asks you to select Picture Size. Once you select the size you want, click on "Attach," then go to Outlook and you should see your draft email, with the image attached. Good luck.

Stop torturing yourself and send the PSD file using Dropbox or some other program. Don't mess with email attachments other than for sending small under 25MB final JPGs.

If you want to send the whole file in all its glory use an archiving program like WinRar, WinZip, or 7-Zip (free) and archive the file setting the size of the archive files at, say 10 MB, and let the programs a set of 10 MB archives that can be mailed separately and easily be opened as the full file.
