I wonder if that picture was doctored. It's hard to believe that someone would do that to herself. Although, when I was a kid living near the beach, I did see a lot of older people who looked similar - way too tan.

Recently, my wife and I went to a local park (no beach) and, as we walked around, I pointed out a sunbathing woman who looked just like that, wondering out loud why she thought that made her look good. I guess "tanning" can have two meanings.
