My apologies to all. After a couple mis-identifications I'm convinced it's a Lazuli Bunting. The wings match and the region matches. Thank you Marg and Rhinophoto.

A few birds that are blue (all males); 2 images of Lazuli buntings (note white bars on wings); Mountain bluebird; and Western bluebird. All taken in the Sierra Nevada.

No, just been on the road for awhile. From Florida to Massachusettes to Maine, back to North Carolina and then, after several days of travelling, back to God's Country!! Wahoo!!. It's GOOD to be back!
