I was 93 in January, and have had some of the problems noted - though not quite so bad - for the past year or so. As I may have relayed previously, I coached and played full court basketball until a bad motorcycle accident in Phoenix at about 85, where I was in the hospital for over a month with broken toes, broken leg and broken neck. I still ride, but don't play BB any more. In the mid-span of my life I never saw a doctor for anything for probably 50 years, but your age WILL catch up eventually; it's just something to deal with! - and make the best of.

Well done on your age! I am 76 and do my best to stay fit and healthy. But my recall is poor so not everything is running perfectly! As they say, diet and exercise are crucially important. At any age but especially when you go past 60. You were so lucky to have got over that motorcycle accident when you were 85! That must be quite a story!

I think those that speak of the golden years just don't recognize rust when they see it!

I'm at that age where my mind still thinks I'm 29, my humor suggests I'm 12, while my body mostly keeps asking if I'm sure I'm not dead yet.
I see people about my age mountain climbing; I feel good getting my leg through my underwear without losing my balance.
It's weird being the same age as old people.
Having plans sounds like a good idea until you have to put on clothes and leave the house.
A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.

Chemo robbed me of my youth, but I refuse to give in to it. It just hurts more and reminds me of that movie line “my mind writes checks that my body can’t cash.”

In my dreams I am always in my twenties…and wake up wondering what the hell happened.

After this past year+, those are two overrated activities.

When I was young (last millennium) I was able to cross my legs and lower myself to the floor and sit on my heels. I could then reverse the process and stand up without using my hands.

That ship sailed a few decades back. Now I need to use my hands and some extra leverage and maintain my balance somehow.

It would be nice to be 70 again.

Yes . . . it would indeed be nice to be 70 again . . . especially when one is 87!

It was a lot easier being 24 in the 70’s than being 74 in the 20’s.

Yes, I agree, as we get older our eye site gets worse, so bad that you can't distinguish rust from gold.

I am 91 and identify with all this. Especially about getting up from the floor. I love to kayak and have no problem with transporting my kayak, handling it, or the navigation and paddling part. What I absolutely cannot do is get out of the cockpit once I am down in there in a sitting position. My answer: Keep my phone and identification in a waterproof bag and literally dump myself out in shallow water by rolling the kayak over. It works but I am always hoping no one is around to watch the spectacle.

I agree and laugh with all of those but I must admit I'm having a blast growing older but not up. It's better than childhood as no parents to boss me around (except maybe wife when things get really crazy) and better than school and working even though I loved school and work. Now I have my own girl who constantly amazes me so I don't have to work too hard for dates, I own my own house so no rent, I have all my expenses covered for the foreseeable future and travel on motorcycle or internationally regularly taking pictures and experiences (COVID excepted). All those little things are just funny. p.s. I'm not bragging because I know how lucky I am to be where I am although I do credit some hard work too.
