A "Classic" album - "Introducing Lee Morgan"

Recorded in 56' at the famous Van Gelder studio in Hackensack, NJ. With Hank Mobley on tenor, the album gives space to the creative artistry of Lee Morgan. Lee Morgan began his career at the tender age of 17. He was a prolific artist. Tragedy struck, when at age 33, he was shot and murdered by his common-law wife in 72'. If interested, Netflix has an award winning documentary, "I Called Him Morgan" of his life and relationship with Helen Morgan, later responsible for his murder.

note: Charlie Parker was 34 when he died.

I was privileged to see him several times in NYC.

I love his phrasing. It's very apparent on the track, "PS I love you".
BTW: Lee Morgan did not have a relationship with drugs.

I still listen to his "Sidewinder" album on vinyl. One of the best who died too young.

Might be the best. I have it on vinyl, CD and mp3. I wore the vinyl out. 😀
