New firmware for Nikon D500

I dowloaded the latest firmware for D500. I shot in NEF. Lightroom will list the images But will provide neither thumbnails nor DNG(s). Photoshop does recognize the images, however my preference is to work in Lightroom. . Has anyone run into this issue? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Convert your files to DNG first using the free Adobe DNG Converter desktop app. You can batch convert as many files as needed and it's fast. Then there shouldn't be any issues with Lightroom or any other pp program. Eventually Lightroom will work on your upgraded NEF files.

It's quitre possible the dll (Dynamic Link) drivers is not functioning propperly. You can always downlaod the latest codec for NEF files supplied by Nikon https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/sw/190.html

The newest firmware was issued in December. Did you follow the firmware update instructions?
Updating from “C” Firmware Versions 1.00 through 1.12 to Version 1.20
You will need to perform the update twice.

I've just checked the firmware versions on my D500 and note that C is at 1.30
