A new twist: photoelasticity

Easy technique:
use the cheapest plastic you can find, it gives more color
use a circular polarizer on a macro lens
in a totally dark room put your subject in front of a computer screen ( I created a white background to fill the entire screen) and used a black drape as a base.
use manual focus and adjust polarizer to control color in plastic

I tried regular glass and did not get any color.

Interesting technique. I like the colors you got with it.
That's what I like about digital photography, It doesn't cost anything but time to have fun trying different things.

Very nice. There are so many things to experiment with and never enough time to try them all

Those colors are the result of internal stresses in the materials. The CP will allow those to be observed and photographed.

These are so cool! I love them. Looks like I may have to give it a try when I have time.
