I bought my Z50 a few weeks ago and unbeknown to me, Nikon had a redemption deal going. Today I received my free gift from Nikon. An FTZ adaptor.
It's brilliant and works on all my lenses, even my wide angle Tokina. Everything functions.
I'm very happy with it after reading some negative reviews on it.
I especially like the price, some outlets here are selling it for AUD$400.

Would love to see some shots and a list of your lenses that it works with. I'm leaning towards Nikon mirrorless with the FTZ adapter. You've given me new hope, after reading several critical reviews of the adapter. Thanks for sharing your experience.

If the darn weather clears up I might be able to get outside Jack, it's an awful day here...

These are my lenses and it works with all of them..also some lists of compatible lenses. I've highlighted some of mine. If the weather ever clears, I'll be out in a flash...
I get fed up with a lot of the so called "experts" who are only too keen to knock a product. Mostly they seem to contradict each other all the time. One "expert" I contacted didn't even have/own the very thing he was bagging..

Just one more thing, there is no way I'll be getting rid of my D7200 or my D500, both are brilliant cameras. The Z50 is just another tool in my collection. It will also be great for my wife, Lorraine, with her small hands.
Here are just a few "snapshots", taken very quickly when the rain stopped and the sun popped out for a while. Still they should give you an idea of what the Z50 does. Pretty good I think, even better if I had more time to "fiddle" with camera settings shoot images rather than "snapshots"...
All hand held.

Ron, thanks for that info and update on 3rd party Lens Compatibility using the FTZ adapter. I have a Sigma 35mm Art lens, so good to hear it works. Just checked the Tamron website and the 150-600mm G2 will work as well after updating it with the tap-in console.

Cheers Vince, that 35mm Art lens is a beauty...funny though, I don't get to use it much. My main lenses are my Sigma 150-600mm & Sigma 150mm macro. Mainly because I do mostly birds and insects..if I have a walk around lens, it's my Sigma 18-200mm, also a great lens...

I have the Z6 with the FTZ and happy with it. This is with my 70-200mm F2.8

It will work with any F mount lens that has the focus motor in the lens, which includes every new lens since 1996. Even if you have lenses that won’t autofocus with the adapter you’ll find that manual focus is much easier with mirrorless.

The Nikon Z series mirrorless cameras are very competitive to other brands in their category and of course no two will ever be exactly the same for that's not the way marketing durable goods works. I'm on the opposite end of the lens spectrum for although I have a Nikon Z6 and the FTZ adapter, my inventory of lenses are all "D" style so they do not have an autofocus motor built into them.

I have the FTZ and use it on my Z6ii. Just a suggestion, mount the FTZ to the tripod unless the lens has it's own tripod mount. That way you won't over stress the camera mount.
