Nothing ever happens in the UK, it is a terrible event and I hope no one gets hurt
Well JR1, something is going to happen in Devon next year! We are going to visit family in Kingsbridge!
The comment about nothing ever happening in the UK was,of course, made by one,Michael Fish.
What I never quite understand is that if these terrible weather conditions occur over non-NATO countries all the Christians nod their heads and intone "God's will is being done." But when God gives the eastern States a pasting, not a word.

Well, just to enlighten you,not ALL Christians say that.

Who the heck ever said that???? There may be a few over zealous right winged lunatics that would say something so stupid, but they are actually few (Pat Robinson, of Jerry Falwell) but they hardly represent the great majority of Christians.. You don't have to be an atheist to understand that most human beings are the same and have the same desires for themselves, their children, and their communities.... I find your comment to be rather insulting and I am agnostic so I imagine that our Christian friends here really find your comment to be offensive.
Maybe if you are hearing these types of comments to often, I would suggest that one you are hanging out with the wrong people, or that two you should go and see a doctor and see if he can do something about those voices bouncing around in your head!
On another note, coming from an area of the country that experiences this type of storm from time to time it is very probable that there will be some areas up north that will experience long durations of power outages..... It seems that whenever there has been an active storm season and we have experienced such power outages folks will rush out and purchase gas powered electrical generators.. Invariably a family will die because they did not understand that the generator must be placed outside of the home or outside of an enclosed garage away from windows or the homes ventilation... Their home fills with carbon monoxide caused by the exhaust of the gas engine and people die...
Please take proper precautions if you use a generator.
I'm glad you find my arrows insulting. That's the general idea. Agnostic,eh? Tell me,do you get a sore bum sitting on the theological fence like that? Afraid of commitment, huh?
I know.Wrong address.Dig DennisK will you please?

I am also an agnostic. It's not a case of being afraid of commitment. It's a case of having the guts to say I don't know, and niether does anyone else.
Meanwhile best wishes to all.

Well I guess I don't understand the Queen's English, so maybe someone can translate what this fellow is saying?
I have no idea what that is but it's not English, Qeeen's or otherwise.
