Great shots and series -
Do you remember when that was a giant plane? The biggest thing that could ever fly? Now it sits under the wing of a C5M and almost disappears
As a kid I remember watching the TV show Twelve o'clock High. Much later in life I finally saw a B-17 and Fifi in real life. What amazed me was how SMALL these planes were and also how far from reality TV shows from the sixties portrayed them.
The Confederate Air Force has changed the name to Commemorative Air Force to be more politically correct. FiFi was the only flying B-29 for years until the complete restoration of Doc within the last five years or so.
I have lived on the backside of "Willie" (Williams Field) for decades (it's now a public air field) and have seen these giants flying over. They literally look like they are standing still in the sky! I find them amazing.
Great to see a B 29 in the air.
I as a Flight Engineer with 750 hours in the last part of Korea, flying out of Yokota AFB 343rd Bomb Squadron 98th Bomb Wing.
Lots of close calls in the unreliable 29.
But still get a thrill when i see one.

Nice shots Dan. I have several shots of FIFI taken at the annual air show put on by the WWII Museum in New Orleans. Two other members named the only air worthy B 29 as Doc.

Very nice, Dan. Built a model of one when I was a kid.
