The modern Temple for World Peace provides a place for quiet reflection and spiritual inspiration. It is used every day for meditation and prayers.
The design is a representation of Buddha's Pure Land and contains holy precious objects revealing the path to liberation and enlightenment. The centrepiece is a large statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Each year thousands of people visit the Temple to admire its artistic and architectural features and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. 'Just looking at the Temple with a happy mind brings inner peace' Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Guided Tours
Fascinating 1.5-hour guided tour of the house and Temple brings alive the spiritual and healing work over the centuries. Pre-booked school and group visits available on weekdays - email visits@manjushri.org for information.
Gardens
Idyllically situated in gardens and woodland on the shores of Morecambe Bay. From the Bay there are scenic views across to Chapel Island, Morecambe and Lancaster, with the Lakeland hills and Yorkshire Dales in the distance. Many people come simply to relax in the beautiful surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. Pick up free guide to woodland walks to Morecambe Bay.Please check out the downloads and just to add there is'nt any charges at all except for the tea and coffee at the cafe.
