I keep seeing references to leftover pizza on TV and in cartoons, the latest one was last night. Is leftover pizza really a thing? Why would there be pizza left over? It's only eight slices. Anyone who likes it enough to buy it should be able to eat one himself, and I'm in that category.
Maybe writers just like the idea of cold, refrigerator pizza. That reminds me - years ago, neighbors invited us over for pizza. After sitting and talking for a while, the wife said, "Well, let's have some pizza." She opened the fridge and removed cold pizza. That was the first and only time I ate cold pizza. I had forgotten all about that, probably intentionally.
We purposely get a large pizza, eat all but 2-3 slices, individually wrap the leftovers and freeze.
Heat another day in the oven for lunch.
(Also, two large pizzas will give us another dinner at another time.)
We don't do cold pizza.
Cold pizza is a “no” from me. I like something green with it, like salad, so 2 hot slices will do.

I don't have that much willpower.

I can and do eat the whole thing myself sometimes, but most of the time I eat half and save the other half for tomorrow. It's a calorie thing. I'm watching my girlish figure Hahahahahaha
Depending on the size of the pizza purchased, the idea of one person eating the entire pie is not recommended. One medium pizza with two or three toppings would be a huge meal for one person. At least it would be for me. As we age, our required daily caloric intake lessens as we do not need the calories for growth, only for maintenance of our body. Extra calories only add weight to us and most Americans are overweight. Not pointing a finger at anyone here. When I do I have three pointing back at myself.

Sorry Jerry!!
Or: Freeze it.
For consumption: buy a pizza oven tray - they are inexpensive
nuke the frozen pizza on low power for 30 - 60 seconds
preheat oven and tray to 400 degrees
place pizza slices on the tray
bake for approximately 5 minutes - take out when the cheese is puffing from the heat.
Never eat left over pizza out of the "box".
I drive 55 miles (one way) for my pizza. I'm extremely particular about my pizza. I eat only Vic's Italian Restaurant:
https://www.vicspizza.com/ I've been eating it since 1947.
If it's worthwhile eating, the travel and expense is also worthwhile. I do not have GAS and I do not drink beer or wine (anymore). I have plenty of money for Vic's.
Mark
Had it for breakfast multiple times in college.
DW & I had a pastor who said, "Cold pizza causes da-visions."
It's applicable as either "the visions" or "divisions"!

Reminds me of the joke about the person who was asked if they wanted their pizza cut into six slices or eight slices. The answer, “only six slices, because I couldn’t eat all eight.”
A pizza stone elevates yesterday's pizza to Sacrament.

I've had their pizza many times. Great old time bar and restaurant and the pizza is delicious. For something a little different come down to the Trenton area for a Delorenzos Trenton style tomato pie.

If the pizza is good to start with, then it is good cold. If it is greasy pizza, it won't be good cold...

There’s 3 slices in my fridge from last night.
My son in law loves cold pizza for breakfast. Personally, I like to nuke them for about a minute.
Nothing wrong with left over pizza.
