Thanks

Unless things have changed you can't calibrate a TV.

I just bought a new Mac Mini M1 and chose a LG 27" monitor 27MN60T. Got it from Costco and have had it running for just a couple of days. I will be using it for internet and email only. I read on UGH that someone bought this same monitor and did not like it for reasons. For high end photography it (may) not be so hot . . . so far I don't see any apparent problems (yet) for my purpose . . . especially for that price. Good luck.

Yeah, ever since they removed the Horizontal, Vertical, Contrast, and Brightness controls, TV just ain't the same.

Remember when we had to get out of the chair and walk over to the TV to control all those settings? And change the volume and the channel.

Would you be open to an Apple XDR 32" display? Go to apple.com and check it out to see if it is compatible with your new Mini. It will blow your mind at 6K resolution and 32" diagonal width. Oh, it can be used in either horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait) mode as well. I will let you discover the exciting part for yourself!

I found throwing a slipper at the set worked occasionally too. Of course in the early days moving the rabbit ears around worked sometimes too.

Gee if I only had $5k.. I have an M1 Mac Mini which I had to buy a monitor for that was at least SRGB good - talked to a number of pro friends and they suggested a dell and BenQ. I bought both (ty for lying best buy) and sent the BenQ back. No monitor manufacturer has calibration and management software that runs on the M1 Mac Mini. Dell of course is pc based but Benq hasn’t updated their software. If you have the money the Benq photo series monitors are great but start at about $500 for a 27 inch 2k. I purchased the dell suggested by Hudson Henry who uses it as well. The Dell is 2719DX (the dx is important as it is different than the D). I bought it at Best Buy for about $250. It is 2k HDMI. It comes calibrated but I checked it with my color meter and it was spot on.

I agree! I bought a BenQ and love it! A little more pricey but great color.

Benq monitors are great. When you calibrate a Benq the settings are stored within the monitor itself not your computers graphics card.
