That’s correct, put it on the other side.

Yep. Tried this today and it worked well. I reviewed the Peak video and obviously connected the strap to the wrong side. My bad.

I use the peak slide and dont have that problem. I use the left hand ring, from the rear, and the tripod mount. This ensures no strap interfering with the shutter button or blocking any views. I also use portrait mode and again no interference from the strap.

This is my setup as well with the PD Slide on my D750. The only issue I have ever had, and it is MINOR, is that when I have a heavier lens on, the strap tends to slowly but surely get longer and longer, I'll have to cinch it up from time to time. Again, very minor issue.

Yes. I tried this out today and it seems to work.

I wonder and worry however that the Peak cord on the plate interferes with easy ability to insert into the Peak clip . Anyone has this problem?

To offer a different view - I have my Peak Design Slide set the same as the OP, with one side on the tripod bracket and the other on the grip, or right side.
It may differ with different camera models and lenses, but my Canon 7Dii with Sigma 150mm-600mm hangs nicely set this way and I haven't had any issues affecting the viewfinder.

As with another poster, the clamps do tend to slide down with use and needs to be re-set at times, but I have read that this was more with the original version and was improved in later models.

While I haven't tried other types of straps, I did a lot of research and believe that this model works best for me.

To offer a different view - I have my Peak Design ... (show quote)

Bauldy,
I actually have my strap attached to the tripod bracket and the side opposite the grip, as suggested by Peak Design. I have tried it in the right side. Doesn’t work. By the way, I have been in contact with Peak Design by email. Even sent photos. So far they have been cooperative but of no help.

One of the great things about the Peak Design strap is it gives you options. I keep a connector on each side as well as underneath and sometimes change mode depending on the lens used or the situation that I am in.

Thanks Bauldy. I agree that it is versatile. My problem is that regardless of which side anchors I use, the strap often twists and blocks the camera screen and viewfinder.

I have a manfrotto tripod with their proprietary "quick release" plate. The PD bracket does not fit, so I do have to remove that point of the strap when using my tripod. Its not a big deal, I move the strap to the ring on the grip side. Yes, I'm one of those people who leave the strap on when its on a tripod.

I just keep the little allen key in my camera bag, so I always know where it is. It only takes a few seconds.

Me too. I don't like to use the tripod mount because I want to be able to put it on a tripod without hassle. It hangs just fine for me using the side strap rings.
