I currently have Luminar 4 and I'm trying to decide if it is worth the extra money to upgrade to Ai! I know that there are some differences between them, I also have the Adobe Photo package. I'm an intermediate photographer and do landscapes, nature, botanical and more. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Some people like the AI side of Luminar others do not. I personally use it very seldom and go to Edit immediately which is almost like version 4.

As someone posted this morning, these companies are offering a steady supply of new, must-have products and updates. Was their older a stuff that bad? I'd bet anything that they have product releases planned well in advance - rather than giving us the best they have available - now.

I have Luminar AI and have used Luminar 4 before that.

AI does not have a DAM, Luminosity mask, and layers is weaker.

AI has done more with sky, atmosphere, face portrait adjustments.

I rarely used templates with Luminar 4, templates in AI are also not something I use often.

I have both, but use Luminar 4 more than the AI version because I usually go right to Edit mode (adjust white balance, etc. . .), although I have found that the AI slider in Luminar 4 does a good job with landscapes. The templates are fun and can be quite useful sometimes in the AI version. Based on a recent survey, it seems that Skylum is planning on adding a lot more cool features in the near future to the AI version. Until then, I would just stick with Luminar 4 - especially since you do have additional Adobe software.
