Those Canons are very popular.

I hit the “buy” button on the Lumix LX10. Hope I made a good decision.

Thank you for your advice…

Eileen, my camera is a Canon SX740 HS, 40 Optical zoom. Great clarity on zoom or macro. LONG battery life, easy to use and I highly recommend it. It cost $400 2 years ago and well worth the price.

Given today's technology, I doubt that there are any "bad" $350-ish cameras out there.

My suggestion would be to do your own search, determine what is important to you and find a camera or two that meets those needs. Look a the reviews. Is there any common feature consistently mentioned as good - or bad? If you have a brick & mortar store anywhere nearby, visit them and get the camera in hand. How does it feel? Make your purchase based on how well the camera fits you and your needs.

I had a similar decision for a small camera. Got a used Olympus PEN-F with the “pancake” lens that has an auto close lens cap. The advantage is that you have the flexibility, if you desire, to acquire more lenses in the future. But the original setup was literally a pocket size camera, with great features! JimR

Not having the viewfinder is not a dealbreaker, I don’t think.

You are HIGHLY LIKELY to change your mind about that the first bright sunny day the camera is used. Fortunately, you can send it back within the specified period after purchase.

Got a very little used Canon G7X for $170 a couple of weeks ago. It has a very bright lens (F1.8-2.8), 4x optical zoom, tiltable touch screen, option to use in full manual mode without digging into endless menus, as well as full auto. Nicely made all metal body and as there are 2 newer models now, they can be found for a very good price.

... and you didn't mention they have a 1" sensor, larger than most compact cameras.

Whoa Eileen,
You're upping the price tag again and very close to the price of the camera as suggested by billnikon.
He was getting thrashed for going over the $350.00 (ish) pricetag.
