This has been around the block a few times I'm sure but, can't find the post. So, give me some thoughts on this lens please. Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 DS OS HMS CONTEMPORARY. This is to go on a Nikon D750..
Thanks for any advise you can give...
Dave

I had one and it was awful. When I sent it for repair the technician's comment was "That lens is terrible". After replacing the entire focusing mechanism the lens improved to 'not very good'. The Nikon 200-500 on my D750 is a bit more expensive and much better.

Nikkor lenses for Nikon cameras.

I didn't know Nikon made a lens in this category, Bob, and if they do, B&H doesn't seem to carry it.

I use the Sigma 150 - 600 with a Nikon D500 and a D780 and get fantastic results.

When I was looking I bought the Tamron 150-600. much better reviews then contemporary and cheaper then sport. Look at reviews

I also have one of these (first gen) that I am quite happy with. I understand the gen 2 is better. Best advice I can give is to try before you buy, or buy from an easy returns site. If you have an actual camera store in your area try there too.

Received my Sigma 150-600 and so far, I love it. This is not going to be an everyday lens so, it should be perfect for what I want. I've had both the Nikon and Sigma 70-200mm and like the Sigma 150-600 better.
This was from my kitchen window just after receiving it.

Mine wasn’t real sharp. Sony 100-400 with 1.4 TC is better. The Sport model is supposed to better. IMHO

I recently switched from being a Canon shooter and I agree with you totally Toment - that is exactly what I use. A Sony 100-400 GM lens with Sony 1.4x extender on my A9 II. Makes action photography effortless! I love it.

I purchased one last August for my D7500 and couldn't be happier. It is fatastic on the DX body, but can't really say how it is on an FX body. I shoot hand held and have no problems with the weight

I found the Sigma to be a solid performer.
