this post has nothing to do with Photography, But it's in General Chit-Chat UPDATE
The bearing is out!!!
I went to the shop with the intent to heat the whole assembly and the slam the pulley down on a board figuring the shock would drive the bearing out. while waiting for the oven to heat up my concern of damaging the pulley took overs I searched my puller drawer and found the adapter shown in the image, since it is over 50 yrs old and I have never found a use for it I put it to work.
Adapter clamped to the bearing and ready to weld. the second tack weld I ran out of gas, some damned fool didn't shut the tank valve off tight enough
so please don't judge the weld.
NOW hopefully people can see why a blind hole puller or a Dremal tool and grinders wouldn't work ( maybe a Dremal) but I did want it out this year.
Actually the bearing came out so easy the tack welds would have been enough!!!

Well done! KISS is the way to go!
Now, I can see what you were referring too, about getting a puller inside... The original photo was dark and did not reveal the hub, to me, it was on... Good work...

I am sure you can just grind that off and reuse the bearing.
Does that center piece rotate relative to the pulley.....but is not removable? How can this be?

The center piece part of the pulley the second piece is the hub that is pressed into the bearing this way the quill can move up and down.
If I can remember I will take photos when I reassemble the press.

The bearing was toast that's why it had to come out.
Great job! I have had to crack the races with a chisel and take them out in pieces.

Had the pulley been steel I could have cut it out with a torch, but that would have happened ONLY when all else failed.
