BTW...using your definition...hardly any countries are socialist. That's not the way it works.
The heavier the hand of government in the private sector...the less efficient the economy is...the less money citizens have in their own pocket for the labor THEY produced...which is theft btw.
Look at England...capital spending per capita (take-home pay they have leftover in their paychecks for themselves)...makes them poorer than Mississippians. If they joined the US...they would be our poorest state.
That's how socialism works...and England isn't an extreme case.

Cliches will kill us. We use the word socialism like it is communistic. Does anyone here want to give
up on Social Security? Amazon is so powerful that they can do anything they want. Google, Microsoft,
facebook all free country corps. Where is the socialism? Of course their are things responsible people
in the USA have to do. And that is what our country needs. The environment is going to kick us in the butt.
It has started already. I was living in FL for a few years now back in PA. The weather changes are obvious.
Their are things we have to do together. Education. My son now at 50 is faced with hundreds of thousands
of money to educate my 3 grandchildren. Who are over achievers. When I was young in New York their
were free colleges. Anyone could go to community 2 year college.
Stop with the politics. Our last President was handed a recovery from the former President.
Socialism doesnt mean anything. You could call the draft socialism. Politics and jargon most of it
online is destructive. I see so many people talking this nonsense like trained robots.
One party thinks the environment is OK. And masks are not necessary. And it is OK to
enter our capital and act like hooligans. This is the reality. Think clearly without all this chatter.

Socialism and communism are the same...just a matter of degree.
It's the politicians...the government that allows Google...Amazon...Facebook etc. to be huge and powerful.
Politicians can be bought...easily.

Because the government got involved.
It's the same with any industry...if the govt. gets involved and guarantees everything with public money (your money)...cost analysis and frugality gets tossed out the window.
There is about a 65 percent pass-through effect on federal student loans. In other words, for every $3 increase in such loans, colleges and universities raise tuition by $2.
Why not? The colleges know that the govt. will just keep giving out loans...to practically anyone...so the cost/benefit ratio can be ignored by the schools.
If you want something....anything screwed up...let the government help.

The Defense Production Act has been IMPLEMENTED under the Biden Administration, trump only enacted, but he failed to go any further with it.

There is a very good reason why top CEO's earn 3-400 more than the AVERAGE worker/ Top CEO's are a rare, and average workers are average and plentiful. Average workers are easily replaced, good ceo's are rare. As in mamy things it's a matter of supply and demand. There is an ample supply of average workers and there are few good CEO's. I worked for an outfit where the top sales people earned more. money than the CEO. And he wanted more top sales people. One of those top sales people is a good friend (for over 30 years).
