As a kid, when I was bored in the classroom, I would often sketch my version of military aircraft. The P-51 was a favorite along with the Chance Vought FU4 Corsair and the North American F-86 Saber Jet. I have been lucky enough to have seen a few over the years at vintage air shows. Thanks for the link!!

Absolutely Fantastic. Should be part of an American History class in High School...is American History still part of the curriculum?

Great film and it's a bit of a tearjerker. It should be required watching for today's school kids.

What a wonderful film. I was born in Jan., 1943. As I grew up I always dreamed of being a pilot. I still have and treasure my Dad's pilot log book. He learned to fly in biplanes such as Great Lakes Trainers, and Aeronca's Taylorcraft's, and Piper Cubs. He had polio in one of his legs as a child and was not able to join the Air Corps during WWII. He was an instrument Technician and worked at Wright Field here in Dayton, Ohio; and He worked on some of the first B-17 Bombers brought here for testing. Yes, this certainly was a tear-jerker to watch as this Fighter Pilot got his first glimpse of his P-51 Mustang when those hanger doors opened. He thinks about his age, as all of us "old timers" do. He wonders when the last of his generation is gone, if that days generations will remember those who flew over Germany and the Pacific in that war, and what they went through and how many sacrificed everything to win that war. As long as there are family members in future generations of these hero's there will always be those who remember these men and their planes and their sacrifices. God bless them all. Thanks for sharing this film Tom. I know I'll watch it many times.

Excellent. Brought on both a renewed respect for those older guys (I retired from the Air Force in 1984) and a tear.

Thanks from an old patriot and Vietnam Nam veteran.
