Here's another with 1/400 shutter in manual camera mode. No motion blur to speak of.
It appears closer to the table top implying faster response.
Interesting result. Smaller difference that I'd have expected....
To repeat others: IF YOU HAVE TO DO THIS— O U T S I D E, eye/ear protection and distance. (Spent 20 years volfire/rescue.)
Sooner or later the FBI will get involved.
SonyDog this reminds of a small photo project I undertook during a Photography class in the mid 70's as a tech elective while studying engineering. my self made & professor approved assignment was to capture the muzzle blast of a 44 mag handgun, using a Minolta SRT 201 B&W, film as I recall asa400.... what was that tri x or plus x??
trust me it took ,during daytime, many many attempts. I mean several rolls of film, back to lab to find failure... try again .... repeat , repeat....
the final positive result was done by the following & we took 4 images
Photo done at Night, with out saying in a place (aka gravel pit)
aperture was "small" for DOF
shutter on "BULB"
we did use a small flash
focus was ... with out saying , manual accomplished using flashlight,
timing was as follows
shooter of gun ready , when you hear the shutter open or see flash ..fire gun
release shutter ,
move camera angle for next & re-do
Each photo came out .....
I wish I still had the images..... image captured flash one of which , we never realized.... gun was a revolver... so there wash flash or blast from 2 places..... head space between cylinder & barrel..... and at muzzle..... muzzle was about 2 feet long ....
good luck with your project
I wouldn’t do it, especially indoors! I doubt it would be worth the effort and potential danger. If you pursue it be sure to wear good eye and hearing protection and be ready in case of a fire. Fire extinguisher a very good idea as well as a quick escape plan. Much could go wrong with this in my opinion.
